Ukraine- Corruption, Pokrovsk & New Russia Weapon

Maybe the corruption part isn’t anything new. After all it’s Ukraine.

Ukraine is launching a massive anti-corruption audit of all state-owned companies, Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko announced on Thursday, amid an investigation into an alleged graft scheme involving the state-owned Energoatom company.

Kyiv is preparing a “comprehensive decision regarding all state-owned enterprises, including those in the energy sector,” Svyrydenko said.

“Audits are under way, and supervisory boards have been instructed to review operations, especially procurement practices.”

“Eradicating corruption is a matter of honour and dignity”, Ukraine’s prime minister emphasised. “We bear responsibility before our defenders”.

Zelensky sanctions his former business partner in energy graft scandal

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky sanctioned former business partner Timur Mindich on Thursday over his alleged role in $100 million corruption scandal involving the country’s energy sector.

A decree published by Zelensky’s office imposed “personal special economic” sanctions on 46-year-old Mindich — in absentia as he fled to Israel on Monday –– including a freeze on his assets.

Recall the report from the other day about Kolomoisky?

How much US/UK/EU money has been laundered through Ukraine to Israel? It’s a valid question.

More on the corruption charges…

Zelensky sanctions individuals involved in energy corruption

The two ministers submitted their resignations after Zelenskyy called on Svyrydenko in an evening video address to ensure both ministers did so, arguing they “cannot remain in office” amid the ongoing probe.

Zelensky tipped them off to what may be coming..

“I will sign a decree to impose sanctions on two individuals implicated in the NABU case concerning Energoatom,” he added. Both Mindich and Tsukerman are noted in the presidential decree as Israeli citizens.

On Monday, Ukraine launched a “large-scale operation” into the country’s energy sector to uncover graft involving what its National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) described as a “high-level criminal organization” seeking to influence strategic state enterprises, particularly Energoatom.

NABU said its investigation involved 15 months of work and 1,000 hours of audio recordings, and that members of the “criminal organization” allegedly demanded illegal benefits to the tune of 10%-15% of a state contract value.

“Using official connections in the (energy) ministry and the state-owned company, they ensured control over personnel decisions, procurement processes, and the movement of financial flows,” the bureau went on to say, adding that about $100 million had passed through the scheme.

Nordic and Baltic States Team up to Fund US Arms for Ukraine

Shame on Norway, robbing the people’s sovereign wealth fund to arm Ukraine.

PARIS — The Nordic and Baltic countries are teaming up to pay for a $500 million United States military support package of weapons and munitions for Ukraine, they said on Thursday.

Norway will contribute the lion’s share at 2 billion Norwegian kroner, or about $200 million, while Sweden will provide $60 million and Denmark around 400 million Danish kroner ($53 million) in funding, the countries said in separate statements.

Kyiv’s European allies debate ways of keeping the cash flowing to Ukraine but the picture on the battlefield is grim

It’s hard, amid the flood of disinformation, ( including from NATO/western sources) to accurately monitor from a distance the exact status of these two important battles. Each day brings fresh reports of multiple attacks and advances by Russian troops. There have also been reports that Russian units have captured Pokrovsk. This would be a serious blow for Ukraine, as it’s an important supply hub, with several roads and rail lines converging there.

But the US-based military think-tank the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), which uses geolocated footage on which to base its assessments, has determined that Russia is not yet in full control of Pokrovsk, having to date seized 46% of the city.

From information I’ve come across Russia has seized more of Pokrovsk then the ISW is claiming. Ukrainian media is reporting on the very poor Ukrainian position in Pokrovsk.

Pokrovsk likely lost despite northern gains

The problem, however, is that the Russians have the momentum in Pokrovsk—and it may be impossible for the Ukrainians, outnumbered five to one, to seize it from them. “Russian forces will very likely seize Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad,” the Institute for the Study of War in Washington, D.C. concluded Tuesday.

Russia dispatches new flamethrowers with upgraded drone protection

On 13 November 2025, Uralvagonzavod, part of the Rostec State Corporation, announced the dispatch of a new batch of TOS-1A Solntsepek heavy flamethrower systems to the Russian Armed Forces. Timed to coincide with Radiation, Chemical and Biological Defense Troops Day, this delivery is notable for the integration of an upgraded anti-drone protection complex. The systems were cleared only after field trials confirmed the reliability of their mechanisms and instruments in varied operating conditions. The announcement is significant because it shows that, rather than scaling back, Russia is reinforcing and adapting a key element of its heavy fire support in the Ukrainian theater.

It seems to me Ukraine is in a bad state at this time.
