It’s been well documented that Ukraine was behind this women’s assassination- It’s doubtful that the US was unaware that this targeted killing was set to take place. That’s my opinion. Feel free to disagree or agree.
I’m also a bit concerned as to why the US is acknowledging this fact. Are they trying to push the idea of Russian retaliation for this killing? I don’t think so. Because I don’t think Dugan (the father) is as influential as the western media has made him out to be. All that “Putin’s brain” nonsense. Daria was murdered in August. Retribution would have already taken place. Again, my opinion.- So, I’m suspicious.
Maybe the Ukrainian military, or the Ukrnazi’s want to take Zelensky out? And framing this murder as a cause for Russian retaliation might be an advance narrative to point the finger at Russia. Should Zelensky or some other associate be killed ? It’s just a thought.

WASHINGTON — United States intelligence agencies believe parts of the Ukrainian government authorized the car bomb attack near Moscow in August that killed Daria Dugina, the daughter of a prominent Russian nationalist, an element of a covert campaign that U.S. officials fear could widen the conflict.
Intelligence or other assistance, officials said. American officials also said they were not aware of the operation ahead of time and would have opposed the killing had they been consulted. Afterward, American officials admonished Ukrainian officials over the assassination, they said.
US claims..
The closely held assessment of Ukrainian complicity, which has not been previously reported, (why not?) was shared within the U.S. government last week. Ukraine denied involvement in the killing immediately after the attack, and senior officials repeated those denials when asked about the American intelligence assessment.
While Russia has not retaliated in a specific way for the assassination, the United States is concerned that such attacks — while high in symbolic value — have little direct impact on the battlefield and could provoke Moscow to carry out its own strikes against senior Ukrainian officials. American officials have been frustrated with Ukraine’s lack of transparency about its military and covert plans, especially on Russian soil.

Since the beginning of the war, Ukraine’s security services have demonstrated their ability to reach into Russia to conduct sabotage operations. The killing of Ms. Dugina, however, would be one of the boldest operations to date — showing Ukraine can get very close to prominent Russians.
The American officials who spoke about the intelligence did not disclose which elements of the Ukrainian government were believed to have authorized the mission, who carried out the attack, or whether President Volodymyr Zelensky had signed off on the mission. United States officials briefed on the Ukrainian action and the American response spoke on the condition of anonymity, in order to discuss secret information and matters of sensitive diplomacy.
U.S. officials would not say who in the American government delivered the admonishments or whom in the Ukrainian government they were delivered to. It was not known what Ukraine’s response was.
Vague assertions aplenty.

This was an article I read the other day and found it very interesting and topical to your post. Putin’s brain; nonsense as you say. Yet I believe philosophers, do have a very important mark on history and great leaders who are moralist thinkers. Castro, Chavez, Gaddafi, are just a few in recent history. Putin a great leader, moralist, and well read; I can only assume has studied and has taken Dugin’s work very seriously. Dugin probably isn’t sitting down with Putin and chatting these days, as I doubt Putin has the time now to sit down with anyone other that his close advisors and strategist. Dugin is someone who would provide a long term strategy.
Usreal always prepping for some nastiness, to blame their enemies for their dirty deeds, and a murder of Z wouldn’t be a surprise.
I think retaliation will come on Russian calendar if at all, not US stopwatch time, as Putin truly wants peace. Z the puppet isn’t likely to be their retaliating target that’s for sure. Dugina’s murder won’t be the reason for the retaliation, if it does come, but one of many; bio labs, pipeline blow, U coup, treaty breaking,Syria, etc, etc. Even though to murder Z the stooge would make no sense on Russ behalf. the US and companies playbook is pretty limited so a dirty deed of any kind and frame, is their to go to play and very possible. It’s a play used over and over, some of the propagandized public might believe even when totally illogical, but most won’t and it’s sweep under the rug as they move on to the next false flag. The Rumsfeld doctrine, were-an-empire-now-and-when-we-act-we-create-our-own-reality.
Hi Rae
that was an interesting read. I do think philosophers, generally speaking, leave marks on society and history- for bad or for good.
Interesting paragraph below. I particularly like the very accurate description of Bernard Henri Levy. Deified indeed. If one worships Satan. Brzezinski was better at putting forth ideas. Though he relied heavily, on Mackinder’s doctrine (claiming no in depth just enough to understand the similarities.
“At the same time, no one in the West could demonstrate his intellectual superiority over Dugin (who was invited to hundreds of intellectual discussions with Western ideologists and philosophers), to demonstrate the primacy and validity of Western intellectual thought in an open dialogue—neither Brzezinski, nor Fukuyama, nor Bernard Henry Levy (deified by the contemporary Western intellectual community).”
Putin does indeed appear to be a well informed/well read person. As is Lavrov.
I’m on board with Russia wanting stability and security at their border. Ukraine could have had that. But their western leadership ( zelensky is a puppet) doesn’t
