June 25/1968 Pierre Trudeau Doesn’t Flinch

Unlike Justin. And our ever spinning media that ignores Canada’s real history. Love Pierre or hate’m he stood his ground. And didn’t whine. Unlike Justin.

Montreal Gazette

Prime Minister Pierre Elliott Trudeau famously stayed put on the reviewing stand for the St. Jean Baptiste parade as bottles were thrown.

“Scores of people were injured last night in bloody separatist-led rioting which erupted while Prime Minister Trudeau reviewed the St. Jean Baptiste parade,” we reported on June 25, 1968. This photo, published on Page 1 of the Montreal Gazette that day, shows Pierre Elliott Trudeau (seated, centre) on the reviewing stand, which had been set up on the steps of the city library across from Lafontaine Park. With him is Mayor Jean Drapeau.
