So many angles to look at this from. The media is pushing the idea that this is a done deal- Let’s do a reality check!
Below is the Economist headline;
Donald Trump brokers a peace plan .
Notice the wording? “peace plan“
THE SOUTH CAUCASUS is a mosaic of warring rivals and closed borders. Lookout posts and bunkers dot its frontiers. On August 8th Donald Trump met Armenia’s prime minister, Nikol Pashinyan, and Azerbaijan’s president, Ilham Aliyev, in an effort to end the conflict between their two countries. At the White House the trio signed a peace declaration and agreements on trade and security.
As I’ve mentioned repeatedly a peace deal was brokered between Azerbaijan and Armenia 5 yrs ago- Under the guidance of Russia. Mentioned yet again in yesterday’s post
No peace, BUT, Pashinyan led Armenia opened the door for the US to enter the territory- Expect more trouble. As if the world needs anymore of that?
Crucially,
Armenia agreed to open an American-operated transport route across its territory,
linking Azerbaijan to its exclave, Nakhchivan (see map). The corridor will be called the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP). “A great honour for me,” said America’s president.
Azerbaijan DID NOT commit to the American operated route on it's territory! - I didn’t expect they would
. But there was zero doubt in my mind Armenia was going to do exactly this- Pashinyan said as much previously. And the man is duplicitous- From the time he came to power in a western backed colour revolution to this very day.
“It is not a formal peace treaty.” –
No it isn’t. It’s not an informal or formal peace treaty. In fact it’s not a treaty at all. No where in the Economist article is there a mention of a true agreement that was actually signed as such in 2020.
“To accommodate Mr Aliyev, Turkey had made normalisation with Armenia conditional on a peace deal between Azerbaijan and Armenia. That obstacle now
appears
to be gone.”“
Notice the weasel word “ appears”? The obstacle that was there is still there- We’re in media presented, Trump Whitehouse, alternative reality territory
The Economist article finally acknowledges there is NO DEAL
Yet amid the Trumpian pomp, the deal leaves much to be done. In Washington Messrs Aliyev and Pashinyan
put their initials on a formal peace treaty, but did not sign it. “
Azerbaijan’s demand for Armenia to change its constitution is unmet.
Mr Pashinyan is unpopular: just 13% of Armenians say they trust him.
Mr Aliyev, had previously threatened to seize a transport corridor by force.
Laurence Broers of Chatham House, a British think-tank, says such talk will be “kryptonite” for peace if it continues. Azerbaijan’s military dominance only makes it harder for Armenia to trust it.
Armenia’s Western/NATO/EU/ Trump affiliation makes it completely untrustworthy- That’s a real problem for the region. Azerbaijan, Turkey, Iran, Georgia and ultimately Russia.
Massis Post is calling this a declaration
Full Text of Joint Declaration
Signed by President Donald Trump, President Ilham Aliyev, and Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan
WASHINGTON, DC — We, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia and the President of the United States of America, having met in Washington D.C., United States of America, on {August 8} 2025, declare the following:
We and President Donald J. Trump of the United States of America witnessed the initialing of the agreed upon text of the Agreement on Establishment of Peace and Inter-State relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Armenia by the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Parties. In this respect, we acknowledged the need to continue further actions to achieve the signing and ultimate ratification of the Agreement, and emphasized the importance of maintaining and strengthening peace between our two countries;
We also witnessed the signing of the joint appeal to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) on the closure of OSCE’s Minsk Process and related structures by the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan. We call on all OSCE participating States to adopt this decision.
We reaffirmed the importance of the opening of communications between the two countries for intra-state, bilateral, and international transportation for the promotion of peace, stability, and prosperity in the region and in its neighborhood on the basis of respect for the sovereignty, territorial integrity, and jurisdiction of the States. These efforts are to include unimpeded connectivity between the main part of the Republic of Azerbaijan and its Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic through the territory of the Republic of Armenia with reciprocal benefits for international and intra-state connectivity for the Republic of Armenia.
The Republic of Armenia will work with the United States of America and mutually determined third parties, to set forth a framework for the “Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity” (TRIPP) connectivity project in the territory of the Republic of Armenia. We confirm our determination to pursue efforts in good faith to achieve this goal in the most expeditious manner.
We acknowledge the need to chart a course for a bright future not bound by the conflict of the past, consistent with the Charter of the United Nations and the 1991 Almaty Declaration. The conditions have been created for our nations to finally embark on building good neighborly relations on the basis of the inviolability of international borders and the inadmissibility of the use of force for the acquisition of territory after the conflict that brought immense human suffering. This reality, which is not and should never be subject to revision, paves the way for closing the chapter of enmity between our two nations. We resolutely reject and exclude any attempt of revenge, now and in the future.
We express our confidence that this Summit is a strong foundation for mutual respect and the advancement of peace in the region.
We express deep gratitude to President Donald J. Trump of the United States of America for his gracious hospitality in hosting this important summit and for his significant contributions to advancing the normalization of bilateral relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Armenia.
The present Declaration was signed on {August 8}, 2025, in Washington D.C., United States of America.

TRIPP- How much of an ego maniac is Trump- That was Trump’s idea 100 percent- Vainglory, Trump is they alternative name
Vainglory, often considered a form of pride, is a sinful desire for recognition and admiration, particularly when it leads to boasting or seeking praise for one’s actions, rather than doing good for its own sake. It’s an excessive focus on one’s own importance and achievements, often at the expense of humility and true virtue.
