Azerbaijani Airliner Crash, Speculation forms Narrative Creation

Dec 26/24- 7:12 PM EST- I’ve updated so scroll down to the bottom for the latest

Spent a fair bit of time checking a variety of media outlets-
Overwhelming the media presentation quotes unnamed sources making specific claims.
The media outlets blaming Russia for the crash are also predominantly US, UK and/or other western backed media disinfo outlets- Like Meduza

Can’t help but also notice the predominance of weasel wording in most of these articles

Weasel words are words or phrases that are used to create the impression that something specific and meaningful has been said, when in fact the claim is vague, ambiguous, or irrelevant. Weasel words are often used to avoid making firm commitments or statements

Examples are words such as “probably”, “ likely”, “suspected” or “reportedly fired on” But there is nothing concrete that I can find.
It’s possible Ukraine shot at and disabled the plane using western missiles, drones or other types of arms- I don’t know?

Quoted in Washington Times article linked above “The airport in Grozny has been targeted by Ukraine in the past as part of its war with Russia.”

Recently; Ukrainian Drone Hits Russia’s Chechnya or Ukraine Drones Target Russia’s Chechnya Region

It’s also possible the plane was struck by Russian air defense “when a Russian Pantsir-S air defense system launched the attack”

But, long story short. I don’t know and everyone else is speculating!

A round up of news articles

There are no official versions on AZAL plane crash yet – Kazakh Deputy PM

ASTANA. Dec 26 (Interfax-Kazakhstan) – At the moment there are no official versions of the crash of the Embraer 190 aircraft of AZAL near Aktau, Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Kanat Bozumbayev said.

Reports of an oxygen cylinder blowing up on board the plane

ASTANA. Dec 26 (Interfax) – An oxygen cylinder has blown up on board an AZAL plane that crashed in Kazakhstan’s Aktau while en route from Baku to Grozny, Kazakh Transport Minister Marat Karabayev said.

Was this a specific passengers oxygen tank? Or a tank for the crew? Because Oxygen Masks in airplanes’, for passengers, don’t use tanks- Relying instead on a chemical reaction

To save space and weight, most aircraft emergency oxygen systems don’t have bottled oxygen for passenger masks. Instead, they have a cocktail of chemicals, usually sodium perchlorate and iron oxide, that produce oxygen when burned.

Two flight recorders have been located

The second flight recorder has been found on the site of the crash of the AZAL Embraer 190 plane in Aktau, administrative center in the Mangystau region, the region’s transport prosecutor Abylaibek Ordabayev said.

Black boxes of crashed plane in Aktau to be studied after arrival of experts – official

Experts will arrive in Kazakhstan tomorrow to decode the data from the black boxes of the aircraft that crashed in Aktau, the country’s Vice Minister of Transport Talgat Lastayev said at a briefing in Aktau today, Trend reports via Kazakh media.

“There is a standard algorithm and procedures followed by all countries. Currently, the process of collecting fragments and components is underway. Experts, including representatives from the aircraft’s manufacturer country—Brazil—and the airline, will arrive tomorrow. Once they arrive, a decision will be made on how to conduct the data decoding. This is the established procedure,” he explained.

The vice minister clarified that an investigation commission is first formed to examine the aviation accident. Namely, this commission makes decisions on handling the black boxes based on all available data and circumstances.

The tragedy occurred on December 25, when an Embraer 190 plane operated by AZAL, en route from Baku to Grozny, crashed just 3 kilometers from Aktau Airport.

The Embraer 190 was carrying 67 people, including 62 passengers and five crew members.

In the aftermath of the crash, 27 people were hospitalized. Among them, 15 are citizens of Azerbaijan, eight are from Russia, and three are from Kyrgyzstan. The identity of one individual remains unknown.

Of those hospitalized, 11 are being treated in intensive care, 13 in the trauma ward, two in the neurosurgery ward, and one in the surgical ward. They are under the care of experienced doctors from Kazakhstan, as well as specialists sent from Azerbaijan and Russia. All patients have received prompt and specialized medical and psychological support.

The crash claimed the lives of both pilots and a flight attendant. Two other crew members survived.

Bottom line. To date all reporting is speculation. The use of unnamed sources and excessive weasel wording is a BIG RED FLAG.

Most recent update!

CTV

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said that it was too soon to speculate on the reasons behind the crash, but said that the weather had forced the plane to change from its planned course.

"The information provided to me is that the plane changed its course between Baku and Grozny due to worsening weather conditions and headed to Aktau airport, where it crashed upon landing," he said.

Hi Ms. Cat:
As usual, Russia did it is the conclusion without looking at the evidence or ever looking at the evidence. As in Syria Assad’s chemical attacks. The west has never seen a false flag they didn’t like.

Gary, yes, Russia did it, is the refrain
MH-17
North Stream
and this latest plane
No evidence, just aspersion. Who needs an investigation, when you can just insinuate?

Like the Malaysian Airlines MH17 incident, I saw pictures of what appeared to be bullet holes in the fuselage of the Azerbaijani Airliner. Of course they could have been perfectly round shrapnel impacts but one would expect shrapnel to leave more jagged holes. Certainly the survivors would have a tale to tell if we can ever expect to get truthful reports about what they have to say.
As opposed to the Ukrainians the Russians would not appear to have any motive for a deliberate action, it would appear to be contrary to any ‘international’ PR strategy on their part. I guess it could be an air defense “accident” but on whose part ?

Correction : Just saw more extensive footage of plane damage showing jagged holes as you would expect from shrapnel impact from an external proximity explosion.
Also, Azerbaijani President was in the air at the same time as the shoot down, on his way to St. Petersburg. just as Putin was flying at the time as the destruction of Malaysian Airlines MH17 in 2014.

Hey Mark,
where did you get the info regarding the Azerbaijani President being in the air at the same time?
I’m looking now, but, haven’t seen anything
However, I recall that Putin was supposed to be flying at the same time in 2014
btw: I went back into my old site, interestingly Kiev and the US were immediately claiming the plane was shot down, by Russia, in a near replay of what has taken place at this time.- spin and weasel wording galore!

Found an article reporting that Aliev was in Russian airspace at the time the Azeri plane crashed. So another coincidence- keeping in mind I’m not a coincidence theorist
