Not a supporter of the Ukraine war- wanted resolution via negotiation

Slovakia borders Ukraine

Slovakia’s Prime Minister Robert Fico was injured in a shooting and taken to hospital, according to local media reports.

The incident took place on Wednesday in the town of Handlova, some 150 kilometres northeast of the capital, according to the news television station TA3.

A suspect has been detained, it said.

Deputy speaker of parliament Lubos Blaha confirmed the incident during a session of Parliament and adjourned it until further notice, the Slovak TASR news agency said.

The incident took place in front of the local House of Culture, where Fico came to meet with supporters. Police sealed off the scene.

A reporter for the daily newspaper Dennik N daily heard shooting and then saw rescuers carrying the premier to a car.

Curiously, Anthony Blinken was “rockin in the free world” yesterday.

oh, no…
This is the kind of thing that can ignite a multi-polar cataclysm…let’s hope the perpetrator was a local motivated by local / personal concerns…if he or she (likely he) is proven to be a foreign anti Russian would be assassin this could spiral even further out of control

Blinken plays the easy chords with the dance band on the Titanic.

It’s not looking promising that this won’t turn into a sh*t storm
They’ve arrested his wife.
She was a so called Ukrainian refugee, tied to Maidan protests- I’ll point out Maidan succeeded in overthrowing the elected leader-
So we have to ask-
Why is she in Slovakia?
Why didn’t she remain in Ukraine, considering she participated in a successful overthrow?
Was she tied to any western intelligence agencies?
Is she still connected to any intel agencies?
And on and on…

This kind of up close and personal assassination attempt which is almost suicidal in design indicates that either the shooter thought he’d be protected later or he was coerced, or compelled. As a public figure it is highly unlikely that he acted alone in some kind of emotional vacuum.

* Shoddy work by the body guards, they seemed confused and indecisive even as they hauled the wounded PM to the car.
