US Accuses Netanyahu of “ Playing Games” (Lying)

Times of Israel

Top Biden administration official says Netanyahu’s claim that resolution led to hardened Hamas stance inaccurate, unfair to hostages; insinuates premier is neglecting them

There was no hardened Hamas stance due ot the UN resolution
Israel has been “unfair” and neglectful to the hostages all along. One may even say murderous?

Hamas’s rejection of the latest hostage deal offer was issued before the United Nations Security Council resolution calling for a ceasefire and hostage deal that Washington allowed to pass, a senior Biden administration official told The Times of Israel on Thursday, blasting Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for claiming the UN vote led the terror group to harden its stance in the talks.

Netanyahu’s office said in an earlier statement that Hamas’s decision to reject a US-brokered compromise was “a sad testament to the damage caused by the UN Security Council resolution.

Long story short- Netanyahu is lying to Israelis

The comments were repeated in similar terms on the record by US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller later Tuesday. “That statement, which I believe said that Hamas pulled out of the hostage talks or Hamas rejected the most recent proposal because of the United Nations Security Council resolution, that statement is inaccurate in almost every respect and it is unfair to the hostages and their families,” said Miller.

The back-and-forth came a day after the White House accused the premier of manufacturing a crisis in US-Israel ties.
However, the senior administration official maintained that Hamas had already delivered its response before the vote.

Indeed, senior Hamas official Osama Hamdan issued a statement hours before the Security Council meeting, rejecting the US’s involvement in the talks along with Qatar and Egypt and maintaining that the mediators were overly focused on the number of Palestinian security prisoners to be released in the deal, rather than issues more important to Hamas such as ending the Israeli “aggression” in Gaza, scaling up humanitarian aid, allowing Palestinians to return to the northern Strip and advancing a plan for the enclave’s reconstruction.

Israeli media is reporting the fact that Netanyahu lied- Interesting?

Hi Penny,
It looks like we are seeing the slow crumbling of Netanyahu’s already fragile coalition power base. Unfortunately his removal might not alter the murderous intent of the Zionist entity.
Meanwhile manufactured famine is being normalized as an accepted tactic in our vaunted international rules based order. In the West we are coming to pity ourselves because we have to endure the uncomfortable ‘news’ images coming out of Gaza and the West Bank. We are living the end days of western compassion, as we witness imposed starvation while salvation in the form of thousands of relief trucks wait outside the flimsy barbed wire fence.
We use the Ukrainian people and others as proxy cannon fodder in vain attempts to weaken Russia. It is not regime change in Russia that we seek, it is the dismemberment of Russia. This is an existential threat to the Russian people and they will not allow a return to the 1990’s situation as a corrupt subservient western capitalist playground.

I can’t help but fear that we will suffer some cataclysmic event before the American election.

Hey Mark
I gotta admit- there are things going with Israel and the US I’ve not observed previously
Coupled with the global disapproval of what Israel is doing to Gaza and the Palestinians- this is a crisis for the US and Israel- the narrative creation that has worked previously, is not now. And that’s interesting to witness
And what is going on in Gaza is horrific- The endless videos of injured, traumatized and or maimed children is horrific. The massive destruction. The starvation.
And Ukraine- was listening to someone talking.. Ukraine is for all intents and purposes done as a country. I can’t see how it will go on. Never mind the fighting. The mass casualties. Those living outside of the country who will not return.
Zelensky is a very poor leader.

While “interesting” I feel that the “the global disapproval of what Israel is doing to Gaza” is as impotent as the various UN resolutions. This disapproval might eventually lead to some kind of temporary cease fire but it has a long way to go before we arrive at a permanent solution. That solution will get submerged by other crisis (plural) elsewhere.
Sorry for being so gloomy.

Hey Mark
It’s okay to feel gloomy, I feel that way often times about the Gaza situation as well as Ukraine, plus, I’m worried that some type of more horrific thing is going to happen.
Hubby says he’s never known a time when things are so unstable-
” This disapproval might eventually lead to some kind of temporary cease fire but it has a long way to go before we arrive at a permanent solution”
Agreed.
