It’s Time for the Scientific Community to Admit We Were Wrong About COVID and It Cost Lives

Sure it’s a limited in scope article, but, if any ‘trust the science’ people come to realize covid and the experimental jab, lock downs and discrimination were not about science, rather it was a hard sell tactic, than it’s worth sharing!

As a medical student and researcher, I staunchly supported the efforts of the public health authorities when it came to COVID-19. I believed that the authorities responded to the largest public health crisis of our lives with compassion, diligence, and scientific expertise. I was with them when they called for lockdowns, vaccines, and boosters.

I was wrong. We in the scientific community were wrong. And it cost lives.

I can see now that the scientific community from the CDC to the WHO to the FDA and their representatives, repeatedly overstated the evidence and misled the public about its own views and policies, including on natural vs. artificial immunity, school closures and disease transmission, aerosol spread, mask mandates, and vaccine effectiveness and safety, especially among the young. All of these were scientific mistakes at the time, not in hindsight. Amazingly, some of these obfuscations continue to the present day.

Funny, I could see clearly, in real time how the accepted “scientific community” lied about everything that was connected to this virus. Everything!

We made science a team sport, and in so doing, we made it no longer science. It became us versus them, and “they” responded the only way anyone might expect them to: by resisting.

Most of us did not speak up in support of alternative (contradicting but sane and rational) views, and many of us tried to suppress them. When strong scientific voices like world-renowned Stanford professors John Ioannidis, Jay Bhattacharya, and Scott Atlas, or University of California San Francisco professors Vinay Prasad and Monica Gandhi, sounded the alarm on behalf of vulnerable communities, they faced severe censure by relentless mobs of critics and detractors in the scientific community—often not on the basis of fact but solely on the basis of differences in scientific opinion.

The leaders of the mob simply engaged in basic fear mongering, name calling and other propaganda type manipulations. The mob itself became a flock of chicken littles- forever saying the sky is falling and yet it never did!

I’m ignoring the label of conspiracy theory unless it is attributed to the vaccine pushing/lock down/ pro-discrimination crowd. It was they who engaged in conspiracy theory, fear mongering and manipulation- Which is why they got everything wrong!

Those of us who resisted did so on solid grounds with lots of evidence to back up our reasoning! We dealt in facts. Not nonsense.

Off topic, but, I’m in Niagara region (Ontario, Canada)
And we had an earthquake this morning!
about 6:15 am. It measured 4.2.
Always shocking when these happen, but, thankfully they are minor and few/far between. Turkey and Syria were hit hard. Lots of lost lives. Sad.

The “they” he wants to admit their errors are the onex that engaged in conspiracy against humanity! Absolutely, but, limited hang out is going to do as limited hang out is going to do!

“Funny, I could see clearly, in real time how the accepted “scientific community” lied about everything that was connected to this virus. Everything!”

That’s been my reaction all along, Penny. We saw it in the beginning; how come so many so-called “experts” didn’t until just recently?

“We saw it in the beginning; how come so many so-called “experts” didn’t until just recently?”

They didn’t want to see it because it was more profitable, not necessarily money wise, but career, authority, star power etc?
And recently the tide is turning..

An earthquake, Penny? Gracious! I’ve never experienced one and I’ve never been drunk so I haven’t even experienced a simulation. Never want to either … in both cases.

Then it is indeed worth sharing. I’ve come across this article several times recently but the more places it appears, the better. Thanks for sharing it and ditto for all your comments about it. Trish Wood read it out on her most recent podcast (at the end, after the Toby Young interview). Trish is a real pleasure to listen to. She’s a pro and I’m sure she’s relieved to NOT be a CBC journalist at this time.

Off topic. Today South Front reported the use of chemical weapons in the Donbass region by Ukrainian troops.

Hi M.R.

Yah the earthquake is always disconcerting- I’ve experienced 4 of them that I can recall.
no drinking other than coffee :))
But we’ve had more- news reports but I never noticed

Saw a video showing the chemical weapon use- not nice at all!
and I’ll check out the podcast
