Dan Bongino “steps down” as FBI Director – Epstein File Release Today?

Yesterday Dan Bongino stepped down- My opinion is, he was already shown the exit some months back, played nice for a while knowing he was no longer wanted before leaving. I also believe Trump used him to garner votes from a wide swathe of voters. All the while knowing he could eventually and easily get rid of him for people Trump is more aligned with politically. It’s also not a coincidence Bongino stepped down one day before the Epstein files are to be released

In politics, nothing happens by accident. If it happens, you can bet it was planned that way.”
― Franklin D. Roosevelt

Wrote about Bongino being eased out of the FBI back in August/2025

Andrew Bailey’s appointment comes after fears just last month (July /25) that Bongino was on his way out of the department after the botched Epstein saga.

Administration insiders claim Trump was quietly furious that one of his hand-picked appointees would so publicly go against him.

Bailey’s tenure as Missouri AG has included high-profile moves aligned with Trump’s interest.

Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche announced the move

Bongino was tapped as the FBI’s sole deputy director earlier this year and caused a stir in July when he largely excommunicated himself from most of his colleagues following a significant rift with Bondi over the handling of the Jeffrey Epstein files.

Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche said in a post on social media, “Thrilled to welcome Andrew Bailey as our new FBI Co-Deputy Director. As Missouri’s Attorney General”

From my understanding there has never been a Co-Deputy Director in the FBI previously.

BBC– More on Bongino’s surprise appointment etc

He (Bongino) was assigned to his position in February of this year” Just six months later in August a “co- director” for the FBI was assigned alongside him. Unheard of. And just 14 months after that Bongino steps down. Serving approx 10 months in his position.

Do you all remember Todd Blanche? If not..

Attorney General Todd Blanche, friend & former personal attorney to Donald Trump conducted the softball interview with Ghislaine Maxwell. After which she was transferred to a posh prison camp. Rewarded for her friendly narrative from the looks of it.

I DO NOT thinks it’s a coincidence Mr Bongino made his announcement on December 18/25. Just one day before the Epstein files are supposed to be released by the Trump Administration as promised December 19/25.

One thought that has crossed my mind is that Dan Bongino will be more effective using his talk show programming to change minds on the Epstein case- In plain language he’s more effective as a tool of state propaganda. His reputation will suffer for this, more then it already has. But it’s more probable he will toe the line for any number of reasons.

Hi Penny,
I believe Marco Rubio at the State Dept. and Tulsi Gabbard and others may be headed out, sacked like Bongino after being used by Trump to garner votes and pay off old debts.

Agree on Tulsi possibly being dumped
Not so sure about Rubio

Some of the Epstein files were released, but, not all as was supposed to happen– AND the files were heavily redacted- to the point that entire pages were blacked out-
I guess that informs us what the DoJ has been up to all this time!

The Department of Justice will not be releasing all of its files on convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein by Friday’s deadline, Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche said Friday morning.

In an interview with Fox News, Blanche said the department would “release several hundred thousand documents today.”

But he acknowledged Friday’s release would not encompass all of the DOJ’s documents for the investigation into the late financier.

“I expect that we’re going to release more documents over the next couple of weeks, so today several hundred thousand and then over the next couple weeks, I expect several hundred thousand more,” Blanche said. “There’s a lot of eyes looking at these and we want to make sure that when we do produce the materials we are producing, that we are protecting every single victim.”

The delay means the White House is in apparent conflict with a law President Donald Trump signed in November that mandated the wholesale release of all of its non-exempt Epstein information within a 30-day period.

The U.S. military used A-10s, F-16s, Apache helicopters, and HIMARS while Jordanian F-16s also provided support, the official said.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth posted on X that the strikes killed “lots” of “enemies.”

“Earlier today, U.S. forces commenced OPERATION HAWKEYE STRIKE in Syria to eliminate ISIS fighters, infrastructure, and weapons sites in direct response to the attack on U.S. forces that occurred on December 13th in Palmyra, Syria,” he said.

Additional information about the strike and total casualties was not immediately available.
