Unless an exercise is public relations is the true intent and goal? The Trump administration has all the available documentation needed to implicate or clear any one person.

Also Ms Maxwell is known to have engaged in perjury- Twice

By Trump’s not releasing the documents, it looked to me that perhaps he did not want to incriminate himself by doing so. If this is the case (and I am in no position to judge one way or the other), having Ms. Maxwell, by lying, saying he wasn’t involved in any misdoing in return for a pardon would be a good deal for both of them if they could get away with it. Do you think this is a possibility?

I definitely believe that is a possibility.
Her testimony is meaningless, really. The evidence is available. It only needs to be released. But for Trump, if she could exonerate him? Trump would be the biggest beneficiary- Maxwell is tarnished to the end of her days- She can move to Israel and live out those days? Or perhaps she’ll meet another fate? I don’t know? But, for Trump, this would be a big win.
