World Court orders Israel to open land crossings to Gaza

The unanimously endorsed order included Israel’s appointed judge

The emergency order was unanimously endorsed by all 16 judges on the case, including Israel’s appointed judge, Aharon Barak, a former president of Israel’s Supreme Court and one of its most respected jurists. All of the court’s orders are legally binding, although the court lacks an enforcement mechanism.

The world court, based in The Hague, had earlier responded to South Africa’s original request for action by issuing a ruling in late January with a series of emergency orders against Israel, including an order requiring it to ensure the supply of basic services and humanitarian aid to Gaza.

Israel failed to allow for the provision of basic services and humanitarian aid-unsurprisingly. Since doing that is in contradiction with Israel’s expansionist goals

“The Court observes with regret that, since then, the catastrophic living conditions of the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip have deteriorated further, in particular in view of the prolonged and widespread deprivation of food and other basic necessities to which the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip have been subjected,” the court said.

As Israel prepares to ignore and repudiate the World Court’s latest cosmetic resolution, Aleppo is bombed again by the righteous Israeli air force. Forty dead, hardly budges the news cycle. The CBC claims militants killed and puts out a story it knows very few will read :

The corporate media grateful that world wide bus tragedies and bridge collapses can provide content to avoid showing pictures from Gaza for at least Good Friday.

Israel has bombed Syria for as long as I can recall now. All parts of it. For any reason at all- Years ago they bombed a Syrian building, claiming it was a SUSPECTED nuclear facility- It took them years and years to admit to it. It was suspected to be or said to have been. But was it? Well, if it was why did Israel take so long to announce it? I honestly think Israel has consistently bombed Syria to keep them off guard, to keep the people and government on edge because they can. Israel gets a free pass to do so.
Only the US and Israel seem to have this type of privilege.
