If you follow 5 + 1 eye media outlets you’d be largely oblivious to the fact that ICJ hearings against Israel’s ethnic cleansing/genocide of Gaza have continued– Below is a brief rundown on the ICJ hearings and the US intelligence assessment on Israel’s claims against UNRWA
Israel and UNRWA
Weasel wording aplenty, but, no real evidence to support Israel’s extremely politicized claims;
A new US intelligence assessment found it is likely that some employees of a United Nations agency took part in Hamas’s Oct. 7 assault on Israel
but says the US can’t verify Israeli allegations that a larger number of UN workers have links to the attack,
In the new report, which was completed last week, the US’s National Intelligence Council, a group of veteran intelligence analysts, said
it assessed with “low confidence” that a handful of UNRWA staffers participated in the Oct. 7 attack.Tamara Alrifai, UNRWA’s director of external relations and communications, said that the organization takes steps to aggressively protect its neutrality.
“We went the extra mile and fired people on the basis of how serious the allegations are,” she said. The report also notes what it says is Israel’s longstanding dislike of the UN agency, two of those familiar with the document said.
“There is a specific section that mentions
how Israeli bias serves to mischaracterize much of their assessments on UNRWA and says this has resulted in distortions,”one person familiar with the report said.
The US assessment also says that the reality of Hamas’s control in Gaza means that the UN agency has to interact with the group to deliver humanitarian relief, but that that doesn’t mean that the agency is collaborating with the group, the person said.
Israel’s allegations were just that, allegations. Low confidence allegations = unsubstantiated.
Meanwhile the ICJ hearings have continued
Oman pushes for Palestinian self determination
The inalienable rights of the Palestinian people to self-determination are being violated day after day by Israel’s illegal policies of “genocide,” the Gulf State of Oman argued to the International Court of Justice in The Hague in a public hearing on Friday, Anadolu Agency reports.
“For four months, the world has witnessed in Gaza one of the worst atrocities, acts of genocide in modern times. More than 29,000 dead and 68,000 wounded, 2.2 million live under very unbearable conditions, being driven from one place to another in clear violation of international norms,” Sheikh Abdullah Bin Salem Al Harithi, Oman’s ambassador to the Netherlands, told the World Court, referring to the four months since 7 October, when Israel’s recent offensive began.
“Violation of the right to self-determination, occupation, settlement and annexation of Palestinian lands occupied by Israel since 1967 impede the realisation of the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people,” he added.
“There is an overwhelming international agreement on the existence of the right to self-determination and its continued denial in the Occupied Palestinian Territories,” he added.

China tells ICJ justice ‘must not be denied’ to Palestinians
China has told the International Court of Justice (ICJ) that the Palestinians “must not be denied” justice at a hearing on the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories.
“Justice has been long delayed, but it must not be denied,” China’s Foreign Ministry’s legal adviser Ma Xinmin told the court in The Hague in the Netherlands on Thursday
“Fifty-seven years have passed since Israel began its occupation of the OPT (Occupied Palestinian Territories). The unlawful nature of the occupation and sovereignty over the occupied territories remain unchanged,” he said.

The US and Fiji stand with Israel’s occupation and ethnic cleansing
In The Hague, hearings continue at the International Court of Justice over Israel’s occupation of Palestine. State Department lawyer Richard Visek presented arguments for the U.S. yesterday.
Richard Visek: “Under the established framework, any movement towards Israel’s withdrawal from the West Bank and Gaza requires consideration of Israel’s very real security needs. We were all reminded of those security needs on October 7, and they persist. … The court should not find that Israel is legally obligated to immediately and unconditionally withdraw from occupied territory.”
Alongside Fiji, the U.S. is the only country participating in the World Court hearings in favor of allowing Israel’s decades long occupation of Palestine to continue. Earlier today, an official from the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Ma Xinmin, addressed the court.
Ma Xinmin: “In pursuit of the right to self-determination, Palestinian people’s use of force to resist foreign oppression and complete the establishment of an independent state is an inalienable right well founded in international law.”
