**The White House pushed to get a co-deputy director installed at the FBI, insiders tell the Daily Mail.**

**Missouri’s Attorney General Andrew Bailey revealed that he was brought on as Director Kash Patel’s co-deputy alongside Dan Bongino.**

**It comes as reports that Attorney General Pam Bondi and FBI leadership were at odds over the handling of the Jeffrey Epstein files review.**

**Administration insiders claim Trump was quietly furious that one of his hand-picked appointees would so publicly go against him.**

**Bailey, a former prosecutor who has been serving as the attorney general of Missouri since January 2023, interviewed with Trump at Mar-a-Lago during the transition for the role of U.S. Attorney General.**

 **Bailey’s tenure as Missouri AG has included high-profile moves aligned with Trump’s interests, including a long-shot petition filed last year with the U.S. Supreme Court seeking to lift the gag order against Trump and delay his New York sentencing until after the Nov. 5 election.**
