I agree. That said, Trump, in my opinion knows who holds the cards, and is showing a preference to bluff and bluster.

Agree, again, because continuing on in this manner is only going to make a mess of the region. But, I think that is what Trump is after because it plays into a larger agenda.
He has options for lasting peace. But hasn’t exercised them so far. Instead opting to continue shrugging of Russia’s concerns.

If Trump really wants to know what’s going on in Ukraine, I think he is better off asking the Russians than his own advisors. If he does ask the Russians, he will realize who holds the cards in this game and that he should not try to bluff in order to win the hand. He could then realize that his best option is to fold his hand and get out of town. He can lay the blame on the Biden? administration and count it as a win. If he doesn’t, playing a losing hand will only harm him. After all, he wanted to be known as the president of peace anyway.
