Thanks gallier2

I understand the sense of frustration, having been around talking geopolitical talk since '08

"Still peddlig the covid bs, the innocent Ukrainians and the very dumb Trump memes (he might be dangerous, he might be not what he profess to be but one thing he is not, dumb)."

And yes, the same bs never stops. No nazis in Ukraine, right?
Covid as a "pandemic" puhleez!
Trump, he's dangerous. He was during the first administration he's more so now because of the faltering position of the American empire

You have a nice Easter as well :)

Thank you for these kind words Penny. I have not much insight to add to what my brother already stated. I do not follow politics with the same intensity as I did before. The frustration of seeing the highspeed degeneration of our institutions and the complete incapacity to make something about it. As you know, working for the EU Commission puts me in a very awkward position as I see first hand how completely oblivious to the outside world some people can be. Fortunately I'm not at the center of the beast in Brussels and there's relative low intensity of politicking going on where I'm stationed and the fact that I'm mostly working from home makes it bearable. Yet, sometimes I'm completely flabbergasted when talking with my colleagues or when reading some mailings on the Intranet. There are people that completly believe 100% the mainstream narrative. Incredible. At the last team meeting at a nice brazilian restaurant, I really had to show a lot of restraint to not shout at half of them. Still peddlig the covid bs, the innocent Ukrainians and the very dumb Trump memes (he might be dangerous, he might be not what he profess to be but one thing he is not, dumb).
Enough ranted.

Have a nice Easter fiest with your children and grand-children.

Gallier the elder and his brother been friends to this site, prior to that, my old site. kaz came along from the old site as well.
I appreciate their thoughts, as I do everyone's. Admittedly, I am and have always been heavily interested in geopolitical/political machinations and it's good to have such reflective friends about :)

really showed the absolute willingness of European leaders to cater to US interests, in exchange for security.
It's interesting now, after all this time of Europe being coddled by the US, to understand that while the US still wants Russia weak, they have China in their sights and want Europe to keep Russia in line, while enriching the US military industrial complex, although the US has effectively destroyed the EU economy, particularly Germany.

I can't shake this idea of the US acting like a leach.. In an attempt to stay empowered they are encouraging other nations to commit suicide so the US maintains it's global hegemony- It won't work, but, the US is trying

Many of the Poles hate Ukrainians too- for obvious reasons

"And one must not lose sight of the fact that they are the most obedient lap-dogs of the Americans. "

That's been obvious for some time now, kind of sad, really.

Macron, where to start? I can recall writing about him at the old site and Sarkozy? I can recall his blathering before and during the destruction of Libya

went to the old site and found a 2008 post

Is the US losing it's grip on Europe?
Interesting thoughts from Willian Pfaff and definitely worth reading the entire article for it's european perspective on a number of recent issues.

The United States, as Richard Holbrook observed several years ago, became and has remained in certain respects “a European power” ever since the second world war. Europeans have often grumbled, and Charles DeGaulle during his 1950s presidency successfully reestablished French political and strategic autonomy.

---- hence all the assassination attempts, way more than I'd realized--

But France’s critical position versus the U.S. has had relatively little serious consequence except by de-legitimating, so to speak, the Bush Administration’s invasion of Iraq in 2003, forcing Washington to give up the attempt to win UN Security Council approval for that war.

That was six years ago, and Nicolas Sarkozy, when elected France’s president in 2007, proclaimed his admiration for the U.S. and his intention to restore France to full NATO membership. But since then, much political and financial drama has occurred.

----And there's Sarkozy-- and the full restoration of France to NATO-
----We, hubby and I, were talking about de Gaulle and the nukes
"France is the only member of the European Union to possess independent (non-NATO) nuclear weapons"
Of course this was under de Gaulle

I think around that time- the election of Sarkozy, the returning of France back to NATO, including his running off to Georgia to negotiate after Georgia had foolishly attacked the Russian peacekeepers to make George Bush/US was hands off- though they weren't-

I am certainly not a connoisseur of Poland now, but if you are familiar with Eastern European Just a little preoccupied with history, we know that as for the Poles, only one thing distinguishes them: their abysmal hatred of the Russians, and from this the political ways and actions of this country can be well explained. And one must not lose sight of the fact that they are the most obedient lap-dogs of the Americans.

As for my country of birth, France. With Macron, the 0 point of political quality has been reached. In my lifetime, I've seen presidents come and go, but no one is as underground as this psychopath. Anyone who lived under a president Charles de Gaulle in his childhood, and only dealt with him a little, knows that he was an extraordinary statesman. That was also the reason why he was damaged by the color revolution of "May 68" and he was "eliminated (greetings from the CIA).

After that, only lackeys came. Pompidou, who gave away the independence of the Banque de France, and thus initiated the country's public debt career. Giscard d'Estaing, who was gradually shifting the sovereignty of France to Brussels. Mitterrand, the former Nazi collaborator who was responsible for countless affairs, murders and assassinations. Chirac, who washed his way through his legislative periods, and felt like a gaullist. Then the traitor Sarkozy, who delivered the country to America by returning to NATO. Who also pushed through the referendum of the French voters against the ratification of the Constitution of the European Union (54.87% of the voters were against it) through parliament (this is what is sold as democracy). And now this would-be Napoleon, who is barking at the Russian Federation.

There is not much to say about my country of residence, Germany. The country has been occupied since 1945. And in the case of an occupation, the occupied person has as much free space as the occupier allows him.

Adenauer, the first chancellor of Germany, was closely connected with the American High Commissioner for Germany, John Jay McCloy. McCloy was married to a cousin of Adenauer's second wife. Adenauer was the Chancellor who rejected German reunification in 1952 according to the Austrian model (neutrality). In Germany, we had three chancellors who gained some leeway over US America: Willy Brandt, Helmut Schmidt and Helmut Kohl. Currently still in office Olaf Scholz, to whom I extrapolate as the only one that he has refused to deliver Taurus missiles to Ukraine.

The chancellor in a waiting position, Merz, said in the last election campaign that he would deliver the Taurus to Ukraine. My only hope lies in the fact that knowing that he has already broken almost all his election promises 24 hours after the election, this announcement of a delivery of the Taurus will also turn out to be just chatter.

If not?

If the first Taurus rocket hits Russian soil, the lights will go out in our country afterwards.

There is still a statement on the European Union under the leadership of Ursula von der Leyen.

This person has already proven in federal politics in three ministries her absolute inability to achieve something constructive or positive. So not the best condition to expect something reasonable at this level.

I have written this text in German and have it translated via Yandex.ru

Thank You!

I think Russia has already decided against and who can blame them?

The Russian authorities would do well not to be pushed to make a decision.
The history of the North American continent is full of treaties that the Anglo-Saxon side did not consider adhering to.
The most recent evidence of this are the two Minsk Treaties, which the western side (under the leadership of the Anglo-Saxons) decided on at the moments of Ukrainian defeat. But according to the admission of Merkel and Hollande and then the Biden administration, these contracts only served to save time and strengthen the armament of Ukrainians.
Russia should now use the momentum and put an end to the fascist spook in Ukraine.

For a clear understanding, one more thing: by Anglo-Saxons I mean the leadership layer, the elected one who pretends to decide what, and the one in the background who is not elected, but makes the decisions.
