I'm afraid he will win.

"Pierre Poilievre on Tuesday doubled down on his call for Israel to pre-emptively strike Iran’s nuclear facilities, saying such an act would be “a gift by the Jewish state to humanity.”

And there's the neocon mindset- a gift by the Jewish state to humanity

I don't think much of politicians generally. I lean towards some of Pollievre's stated internal stances, particularly energy policy, anti-woke agenda. spending limits and counter cronyism but he is a disaster on foreign policy. He seems to be a staunch zionist and he fully supports unlimited aid to the Zelensky regime and NATO adventurism. I anticipate his success in the coming election not through favoritism but solely on the basis of his long standing 20 point lead in the polls.

Did you notice his teary eyes? I was surprised. But was it genuine?
I don't know.
Carney and/or Freeland are the only two that could save the Liberals from oblivion. And I'm not sure on outcome for either of them.

"Again I am reminded of Kim Campbell and Mulroney’s PC debacle in 1993."
I can vaguely recall that- Whatever happens it's going to be interesting!

Btw: I don't think much of Pierre P. He reminds me of Justin Trudeau, never been anything but a politician, but with less personality.

As pleasant as that was to watch Trudeau fall on his sword, it would have been better for the Liberal Party if Trudeau had called an election ASAP and taken the inevitable loss but allowed a more relevant internal party leadership process instead of saddling the next leader with the electoral defeat at the start of his term.
