Thanks for the dining suggestions, we do live not that far away from Niagara and have enjoyed many day excursions there. I have taken many foreign visitors there over the years and many state that the natural majesty of the Falls and the quaint Edwardian English charm of Niagara-on-the Lake are what they remember most fondly about Canada. ( especially juxtaposed to the urban sprawl of Toronto )
We too feel the inflationary crunch and are blessed to have built a small nest egg when it was still possible to save money.
I do really like when you dust off older articles it helps me deal with passage of time and to appreciate those political truths that are always relevant.
May your mighty pen never falter.

Hey Mark
It was my thinking about Niagara on the Lake- when we used to go there on occasion
Prior to Covid we used to hit the wineries every once (in the summer) in a while to for lunch and some wine, but, not anymore
If your near Niagara? Some of the wineries that had great food (usually lunch)

Creekside
Ravine
Good Earth
And 13th Street winery is well known for it’s butter tarts

I can’t even imagine what their prices are like now to eat there- oh well!
The banksters wanted inflation and they got it!
