Thanks! I thought of the bombing of the Chinese embassy when Israel bombed Iran’s embassy, too. My thought was that they learned from the USG!

this reminds me so much of Israels hit on the Iranian consulate/embassy in Damascus- oh it was being used for military reasons, blah, blah blah.
Was it? Even if military personnel were meeting there with people from the embassy that doesn’t seem an unlikely or unusual thing.. in fact one would expect it.

that said the US strike on the Chinese Embassy, like the Israeli strike on the Iranian Embassy were both breaches of certain international conventions
I’ve seen these described as Vienna Conventions. (Ecuador’s attack on the Mexican embassy falls under the same breach of convention)

Anyway, long story short- the US knew this was the Chinese Embassy and they bombed it intentionally
