**Admittedly this news came as a surprise, but, after taking the time to think about it.. It wasn’t that surprising.**

> **Martyr for the cause..*a person who suffers greatly or dies for a cause, belief, etc.***

**Alexei Navalny has been around for a some time He’s been presented, to western audiences, as an opposition figure in Russia for better than a decade now. By that I mean some type of real opposition. Though, he was nothing of the sort. Not really. He was the mascot/figure head of an opposition that existed** **more firmly in the minds of Americans, Canadians and Europeans.**

**My suspicion is that Navalny is more valuable as a western intelligence asset, dead.**

- **His usefulness alive was virtually non existent.**
- **He was no real opposition leader or figure head. He had no real support among the Russian citizens**
- **Coming hot on the heels of the wildly successful Tucker Carlson interview with Putin- this timely death puts Russia back in a negative light. And Putin is back to being presented as a killer.**
- **The catastrophe that is Avdiivka can be ignored. Ukraine left man to die. They used them as fodder. This loss comes right after Zaluzhny appoints the butcher to lead the military**

**We can recall that Navalny played divide to conquer.**

**The lionizing of this individual in the media is a sight to behold. I realize this is a loss to his family and that’s got to be difficult. For them he was real and tangible. For the western audience that wanted to believe he was a[ luminary. ](https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/luminary)For many of us, though, Navalny was just another of many western backed intelligence assets that have come and gone through the years- He is not the first and he won’t be the last.**
