Yes, the system is corrupt. I agree with that. The entirety of the system is built on systemic corruption.
In the same way I see the general populace as out of touch with reality and all having cognitive dissonance-
What is normal is abnormal what is unbelievable is believed.
I’m still awestruck when people tell me Canada is a democracy because we “elect” a leader- but we don’t- we chose among those provided to us. That’s it

The government must fund projects that benefit the corporations who make “political donations” to the elected government officials who make the decisions. The people in the system are only corrupt because the system is, at the fundamental level, corrupt.
As the saying goes, round pegs fit in round holes and square pegs fit in square holes. Don’t expect to change the system from within.

Makes sense thinking about the proliferation of drone technology- and likely other things that haven’t crossed my mind
And yet Canada’s going to spend a small fortune of this ship

I’m reading through the Ottawa Citizen article and..

“Canada’s CSC project has already faced delays and significant increases as the price tag has climbed from an original $14-billion estimate to $26 billion and then upwards.”

Parliamentary Budget Officer Yves Giroux noted in a report issued last year that the estimated price tag is now around $77 billion”

And yet Canada is moving forward with these..

“But the Department of National Defence has rejected the PBO figures, instead maintaining that the cost of the program will be between $56 billion and $60 billion. DND officials have insisted the cost will not go up beyond those figures and that it has no intention of changing course or considering anything but the Type 26 design”.

So no changing course and no considering anything else but this defective design!
