**If you neither confirm independently and/or single handedly** **nor deny isn’t it better to say- *You have no opinion on the matter*. Since there is no basis for an opinion to be formed?**

**Spokesperson: *‘“We certainly believe that that warrants further investigation”***

**So the Pentagon believes the situation warrants further investigation, which does not verify or validate that which is claimed to have occurred.** **Because if there was evidence that verified or validated, you wouldn’t need further investigation?**

The US military is not in a position to independently confirm Ukrainian accounts of atrocities by Russian forces against civilians in the town of Bucha, but has no reason to dispute the accounts either, a senior US defense official said on Monday.
